HONOLULU (AP) - A 20-year-old Pauoa Valley man has been arrested in connection with a head-on collision that killed his girlfriend, 1 1/2-year-old daughter and a man in his 30s in December.

KHON-TV (https://is.gd/U82ABq) says Faaolataga Kitiona was arrested Monday on charges of negligent homicide and injury.

Kitiona was booked at the Kapolei police station and released pending investigation.

Authorities say Kitiona was driving a car December 28 on Farrington Highway when the vehicle crossed the center median and collided into a pickup truck.

His 18-year-old girlfriend, their young daughter and his cousin were killed in the crash. Four people in the truck were injured.

Kitiona, who was recently released from a hospital, was the only one in the car to survive.

Kitiona could not immediately be reached for comment Tuesday.
