MIDWEST CITY, Okla. (AP) - Rose State College has announced that it is adding intercollegiate soccer to its roster of sports as well as appointing an athletic director.

Soccer will be added to the school’s lineup starting in fall 2014. The school already has baseball and softball programs.

Rose State College President Jeanie Webb says in a news release that the expansion of the athletics program means that the school needed to create the position of athletic director.

Joey DaVault has been appointed to the position. He most recently served as the director of the Community Learning Center for Rose State College. He says he is excited for the opportunity.

DaVault says the college is preparing to field a Division I soccer program that will participate in Region II of the NCAA.
