FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - The University of Arkansas’ Omar McCleod has been named the Southeastern Conference’s Freshman of the Week following his first collegiate competition at the Arkansas Invitational Track and Field Tournament.

McLeod made an impressive debut in his first meet at Arkansas, winning all three of his events to propel the Razorbacks to a first-place finish.

He earned his first collegiate event title in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.82, which ranks fourth all-time in Arkansas history. His 6.73 finish in the 60-meter dash in a time of 6.73 ranks No. 5 in the NCAA this season and No. 6 all-time at Arkansas.

The league announced its freshman honors on Tuesday. McLeod and the Razorbacks will be back in action on Friday as No. 1 Arkansas hosts No. 15 Texas.
