KOKOMO, Ind. (AP) - Fire at a central Indiana city’s garage destroyed six of its buses, forcing officials to suspend its bus service for senior citizens and disabled residents.

The fire broke out Tuesday evening at Kokomo’s Central Garage, leaving only part of one wall of the pole barn structure standing.

City transportation director Tammy Corn tells the Kokomo Tribune (https://bit.ly/1cnjYrl ) that nearly 500 trips were scheduled Wednesday for the paratransit service. She says four buses pulled from the burning garage will be checked out.

Deputy Fire Chief Nick Glover says no one was hurt in the fire. The fire’s cause wasn’t immediately determined.
