SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - The funeral for 8-year-old Kaitlyn Mills, who died last week after contracting the H1N1 flu virus, also known as swine flu, will be held Wednesday at the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Shreveport.

The Times reports (https://bit.ly/1clnjqG ) the services Mills, of Bossier City, begin at 11:30 a.m.

Mills died last Wednesday, just one day after her parents reportedly noticed her suffering from flu-like symptoms. The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office is still investigating the cause of death, however, Deputy Coroner Greg Clement has said it is likely H1N1 will be the reason.

At least 20 people have died in the state from the flu since Oct. 1. Mills‘ death is the first confirmed pediatric death in the state this season.
