BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Republican state Rep. Paul Hollis has launched his first TV ad in his campaign for the U.S. Senate seat held by Democrat Mary Landrieu.

The ad started running Wednesday in most television markets around Louisiana, according to Hollis‘ political consultant Roy Fletcher. Fletcher says the 30-second spot will run for about two weeks.

Hollis, a first-term lawmaker from St. Tammany Parish, uses his first introduction to statewide voters to condemn President Barack Obama’s federal health care law.

The ad also hits Landrieu with criticism, though Hollis doesn’t name her, instead referring to her as “our senator.” He says Landrieu, a supporter of the health overhaul, chose Obama over Louisiana.

Two other GOP candidates are running in the November election: U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy and retired Air Force Col. Rob Maness.
