LANSDALE, Pa. (AP) - A homeless teenager has been charged with attempting to rape a woman at a park near Philadelphia.

Police in Montgomery County said the 25-year-old victim told police that she was putting her children in her car Monday at Stoney Creek Park in Lansdale when the youth approached from behind.

She said the teenager, who was wearing a blue mask, placed an arm around her neck, stuck what she believed to be a knife in her side and forced her toward a wooded area, but she managed to break free and he fled.

Police searched the area with the help of a K-9 unit and arrested a 16-year-old in Upper Gwynedd Township.

The youth, a native of El Salvador, was held in lieu of $100,000 bail on charges including attempted rape
