ROGERSVILLE, Pa. (AP) - A western Pennsylvania fire marshal is trying to find out what started a trailer fire that left an elderly woman dead.

The (Washington) Observer-Reporter (https://bit.ly/1m6DI85 ) reports that the blaze in Greene County’s Center Township was reported just after 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The county’s emergency management agency said six volunteer fire departments responded.

Chief deputy coroner Mary Lewis said 83-year-old Ruth Larimer was found dead on the back porch of the trailer and pronounced dead at the scene just before 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Lewis said the victim’s daughter escaped and told investigators that she awoke to see smoke filling the trailer and couldn’t find her mother.

An autopsy was planned to determine the cause of death.
