CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - Police in Cape Girardeau say a body has been found in the back seat of a vehicle submerged in the Mississippi River.

The Southeast Missourian reports (https://bit.ly/1fGwJoF ) a passer-by called police around 10 a.m. Friday after spotting the vehicle’s roof and an antenna.

Cape Girardeau police spokesman Darin Hickey says no one else was found in the car. No details about the body were released, and police asked that information about the car not be made public for now.

Investigators aren’t sure when and how the car went into the river. Crews pulled it from the water at the Red Star boat access area.
