DENVER (AP) - The University of Denver’s chancellor says he will retire this summer after working at the school for more than three decades.
The Denver Post reports (https://bit.ly/1mlVLtE ) Robert Coombe, who came to the university as a faculty member in 1981, will retire in June. He served as DU’s provost between 2001 and 2005 before becoming chancellor.
Trygve Myhren, chairman of the Board of Trustees, says the group accepted Coombe’s decision with regret “but is excited about DU’s prospects for the future.”
The board will form a search committee within the next 10 days to find a replacement, and school officials hope to hire someone by the end of the current school year after an international search.
