CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A West Virginia fugitive wanted on drug charges has been arrested in New Mexico.

Federal authorities had been searching for 58-year-old John N. Skruck of Clarksburg, W.Va., since he failed to appear for trial in May 2013.

The U.S. Marshals Service tells media outlets that deputy marshals in New Mexico arrested Skruck on Saturday in San Cristobal, N.M. Skruck is scheduled to appear before a federal magistrate in New Mexico on Monday.

Federal prosecutors say Skruck was general manager of two stores that distributed hallucinogenic bath salts in north-central West Virginia. Authorities raided and closed the stores in Clarksburg and Buckhannon, W.Va., in April 2012.

The stores’ owner and two other co-defendants were convicted and sentenced in 2013.
