BOGALUSA, La. (AP) - City officials are placing trash cans at heavily trafficked intersections in hope of reducing litter on Bogalusa streets.

The Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1i1jUpl ) the receptacles are being placed near stoplights and other locations around the city, including heavily trafficked Louisiana Highway 10 near its intersection with Louisiana Highway 21.

Trash cans also have been placed outside Cassidy Park on Willis Avenue, in the Bogalusa High School parking lot and on Columbia Street.

Main Street Manager Robin Day says the Main Street Commission is ordering more trash cans, as well as some benches, for the downtown area.
