ATLANTA (AP) - The Rev. Raphael Warnock will deliver the keynote address during a commemorative Martin Luther King Jr. Day service at Atlanta’s Ebenezer Baptist Church.

King, a civil rights icon and Atlanta native, once preached at Ebenezer Baptist Church and past events have included Dr. Cornel West, former Atlanta mayor, congressman and United Nations Ambassador Andrew Young, former president Bill Clinton and Archbishop Desmond Tutu as speakers.

The King Center and other organizations hosted events throughout the week to celebrate King’s birthday including film screenings, musical performances and more throughout the city.

Some events, including a gun buyback at Turner Field and a film screening at the church, were entered on the theme of non-violence.
