LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 25-year-old man is in jail after authorities say he set cardboard and wooden items on fire in a bathtub in northwest Las Vegas.

Authorities say they were responding to reports of a domestic dispute at a home on Sparkle Avenue a little before 1 a.m. Monday when they found smoke coming from an upstairs bathroom.

Officials say the fire was quickly extinguished and the damage was limited to the tub.

Police say there were six people in the house at the time of the fire, including two children. Officials arrested JoeShawn Sterling, who was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on one count of arson.

He’s scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
