BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Baton Rouge police are investigating a deadly automobile crash.

WBRZ TV reports the crash happened late Monday night.

Witnesses told police a car ran through a stop sign on and slammed into another vehicle, sending it into a telephone pole. The pole snapped the car in half.

The driver of the vehicle the car hit was ejected and died at the scene.

Witnesses said the people inside the vehicle that caused the crash took off on foot.

Police have not released the name of the victim.
