LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Former University of Wyoming president Robert Sternberg is joining the faculty at Cornell University.

Sternberg, a psychologist, will be a professor of human development at the school’s College of Human Ecology starting Feb. 1.

Sternberg resigned as leader of the University of Wyoming in November after less than five months on the job because he said he didn’t feel he had the full support of the trustees. Five administrators and three deans left their jobs during his tenure.

Last week, the trustees appointed Dick McGinity to replace him as president of the state’s only public, four-year university.

In a press release issued by Cornell, Sternberg said he had never felt so welcome in his life and that he and his family looked forward to the move to Ithaca, N.Y.
