ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - A Rochester psychiatrist is scheduled to appear in court on charges that he hid a man’s body in his backyard.

Local media outlets report that 62-year-old Dr. William Lewek is due to appear in a Rochester court Tuesday morning, around the same time funeral services are held for Matthew Straton of Rochester.

Police say Straton’s body was found last Wednesday night buried in the backyard of Lewek’s Rochester home. Lewek was charged with tampering with physical evidence and criminal possession of a controlled substance. He pleaded not guilty during his initial court appearance Friday.

Straton had been missing since October. Authorities say they’re trying to determine how he died.

Straton’s funeral is being held Tuesday morning in Webster.
