TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Tempe police report making 100 arrests following an 18-month investigation into check fraud operations in the Phoenix area.

Police estimate that the five operations made over $240,000 of attempted and completed fraud transactions.

According to police, the operations were based on three loosely affiliated organizations, many involving family members.

The cases will be prosecuted by the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.

That office and the Tempe Police Department scheduled a news conference to release more information on the case.
