LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities have identified a 4-year-old Las Vegas boy who died after being found unconscious in a burning home.

Clark County spokeswoman Stacey Welling said Wednesday that Maximiliano Rene Ibarra-Martinez’s mother and a sister escaped unhurt before firefighters arrived at the burning home near Warm Springs Road and the 215 Beltway about 4:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Paramedics took the boy to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Neighbor Dave Bennett tells the Las Vegas Sun (https://bit.ly/1edDXKj ) that area residents fought flames with garden hoses until firefighters arrived.

Welling says firefighters doused flames within about 10 minutes.

Las Vegas police and Clark County fire officials are investigating the death and cause of the fire.

Welling says two people died in fires in Clark County last year, and 13 in 2012.
