LACEY, Wash. (AP) - Three young men are in custody and Lacey, Wash., police are looking for two more in the fatal shooting of a 34-year-old man in what police say was apparently a marijuana sale that turned violent.

The man killed Wednesday night in his car in an apartment complex parking lot was identified Thursday as Daniel L. Smith of Lacey.

The Olympian reports (https://is.gd/dxuDch ) that police Cmdr. Jim Mack says officers believe the shooter is a 17-year-old boy who is one of two juveniles still at large.

In court papers, police say the teens had arranged to buy an unspecified amount of marijuana from Smith but brought no money to the meeting and planned to rob him of the pot. Police say the 17-year-old shot Smith when the man tried to drive away after seeing the weapon.

Two adult teens appeared in court Thursday and were ordered held on $500,000 bail.

Police say a 911 caller who witnessed the shooting provided several names and a vehicle description.

Lacey is near Olympia.
