RENTON, Wash. (AP) - The Washington State Patrol says the motorcycle in the fatal crashed early Thursday in Renton was a 2010 Harley Davidson that had been stolen in Arizona.

The patrol says the rider was fleeing a trooper, went onto a bicycle path and hit a metal pole after making a U-turn.

The crash at 1:20 a.m. killed the 44-year-old Renton man.

Trooper Chris Webb says the incident began when a trooper tried to pull over two motorcycles on Interstate 405. One got away. The trooper followed the other one to Highway 169 at Renton where it exited to the bike trail.
