PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities are investigating whether the frigid temperatures may have been responsible for the death of a fourth person in the Philadelphia area.

Police said a 30-year-old man was found outside on a Philadelphia block just before 8 a.m. Thursday. The man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead a half-hour later.

A ruling on the cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Philadelphia medical examiner’s office.

Autopsies are also planned on the bodies of three people in adjacent Delaware County to determine whether their deaths were weather-related.

Police in Ridley Township say weather might have contributed to the deaths of a 92-year-old woman and an 89-year-old man in separate cases, and Swarthmore police are investigating the weather’s possible role in the death of a 67-year-old man.
