DETROIT (AP) - Local and state police and federal agents are conducting sweeps in two Detroit neighborhoods for people wanted on warrants and for drug violations.

Detroit police say “Operation Restore Order East and West” targets parts of the 5th Precinct on the city’s eastside and 8th Precinct on the west side.

The sweeps started at noon Thursday and were expected to end at 8 p.m. The department says it has more than 100 outstanding warrants for people living in those areas. Charges include parole and probation violations, weapons offenses, robbery, narcotics, home invasions and assaults.

Several dozen people were arrested last month during a raid at an east side housing complex. A similar raid in November at an apartment complex also resulted in dozens of arrests.
