ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A truck driver is facing criminal charges stemming from a fiery fatal crash along a busy highway in northeastern Pennsylvania earlier this month.

Authorities said 55-year-old Robert Wayne Gawne Sr. of Allentown was arrested Thursday and charged with vehicular homicide, involuntary manslaughter, reckless endangerment and traffic violations.

The accident happened Jan. 13 in the westbound lanes of Interstate 78 near the Pennsylvania-New Jersey state line in Williams Township, Northampton County.

Pennsylvania State Police say 65-year-old Daniel Murphy of Hackettstown, N.J., was stopped at the toll booth when a ShopRite tractor-trailer driven by Gawne came through and hit the car, which got lodged under the truck and caught fire. Murphy was killed at the scene.

Gawne was sent to the county prison, unable to post $50,000 bail.
