FRANKLIN, N.H. (AP) - The fire departments in Franklin and Tilton, N.H., have responded to a number of fires recently, possibly related to the extreme cold.

Among the latest are a mobile home fire on Wednesday afternoon in Franklin, believed to have been caused by an electrical problem. Later that night, crews responded to another mobile home fire, in Tilton.

On Thursday morning, the Franklin and Tilton-Northfield departments responded to a building fire in Franklin, which displaced eight residents. Investigators believe this fire was caused by a problem with the fireplace on the second floor.

While at the building fire, firefighters also received a call of an explosion in Franklin. They found a pickup truck fully involved with exposure to a building and an adjacent car. No injuries were reported.
