INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - An order from Gov. Mike Pence to ease restrictions on propane transport will continue through Jan. 31 in the wake of recent frigid weather.
Supplies of propane gas used to heat homes began running short after temperatures dipped below zero this month. Limits on drivers’ hours normally restrict the amount of gas that can be brought into state but were lifted to meet demand.
Pence says Indiana Department of Transportation trucks also will turn to diesel fuel to conserve propane.
Pence is urging Indiana residents to take propane conservation steps of their own.
