MARSHALL, Texas (AP) - A grand jury has indicted an East Texas man for allegedly killing his estranged wife in a case that has prompted a national campaign.

Brad Allen Dunn is charged with murder in the December stabbing death of Kari Dunn at a Marshall hotel. The 35-year-old was indicted Wednesday and is being held at the Harrison County jail on a $5 million bond.

Kari Dunn had taken her three children to visit Brad Dunn at the hotel when he allegedly dragged her into a bathroom and stabbed her. Her young daughter tried to call 911 but was unsuccessful, not realizing she had to first press 9.

Kari Dunn’s family has launched a campaign to allow hotel guests to dial 911 without having to press another number for an outside line.
