SUMMIT, Wis. (AP) - Waukesha County authorities have charged a 27-year-old man in the shooting death of his 60-year-old father in the Village of Summit.
Shawn Witt is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the death of James Witt. Prosecutors also charged him Friday with bail jumping, heroin possession, theft and violating an injunction. Bail was sent at $1 million.
Authorities say Shawn Witt was arrested on domestic abuse charges Tuesday for allegedly beating his father. A criminal complaint said they had argued about loud music and the son’s lack of a job. A court granted a restraining order prohibiting the son from any contact with his father. But officers found the father dead in his basement the next day, wrapped in a blanket.
Online court records don’t list an attorney for Shawn Witt.
