RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Time is running out for Virginians to order tree seedlings online from the Virginia Department of Forestry.

The state agency says that it will close its online tree seedling store on April 23. It will reopen again in October.

The Forestry Department’s two tree nurseries grow and sell 24 million tree seedlings each year. Officials say several species are already sold out.

Those interested can log onto BuyVirginiaTrees.com and order from the more than 40 species available. The online store also includes information to help landowners choose the right species.
