LOCKPORT, N.Y. (AP) - An upstate New York man has been charged with shaking his 5-month-old son so hard the baby had to be hospitalized.

Authorities tell The Buffalo News (https://bit.ly/1huykuv ) Friday that Christopher Fuller was charged with first-degree assault and reckless assault of a child.

They say the infant is listed in critical condition at Buffalo’s Women & Children’s Hospital.

The newspaper says the 23-year-old Fuller sent to jail after he was arraigned and couldn’t make bail.

It wasn’t immediately clear if he had a lawyer.

Lockport is about 30 miles north of Buffalo.
