RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont man has pleaded not guilty to five counts of promoting child pornography.

Mark Zielinski of Middletown Springs was charged following an investigation by the state attorney general’s office, the state Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and state police.

Court documents say Zielinski is accused of obtaining and distributing child pornography over the Internet using peer-to-peer file sharing programs. Computers connect to peer-to-peer networks via publicly available software that permits them to trade pictures and movies with other computers.

Zielinski pleaded not guilty Thursday in Rutland Superior Court.
