POWELL TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Police say they arrested a suspected drunken driver after her vehicle got stuck in a snow bank in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and caught fire while she tried to free the vehicle.

State police say they responded about 4 a.m. Sunday in Marquette County’s Powell Township following a report of a vehicle fire.

Police say the 45-year-old woman from Big Bay was driving with her two dogs when she lost control, hit the snow bank and got stuck. The woman and her dogs were safely out of the vehicle by the time police arrived. The vehicle was destroyed by the fire.

The woman was held at the Marquette County jail.
