KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee guard Ariel Massengale’s status remains day to day with an injury to her face that already has forced her to miss one game.

Massengale didn’t practice Tuesday, but Tennessee coach Holly Warlick said the 5-foot-7 junior hasn’t been ruled out for the 10th-ranked Lady Vols’ game Thursday with Arkansas (15-5, 2-5 SEC).

Massengale got hit in the face Thursday while making a steal late in the first half of an 89-69 victory over Florida. The injury prevented her from making the trip to Sunday’s game at No. 17 Texas A&M.; Andraya Carter started in Massengale’s place and played all 40 minutes as Tennessee (16-4, 5-2) won 76-55.

Massengale is averaging 12.5 points and 5.8 assists per game. Massengale had made 43 consecutive starts before sitting out Sunday’s game.
