WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) - John L. Walker III has become the third member of his immediate family to serve as president of the Virginia Bar Association.

The partner at the Williams Mullen law firm in Richmond was installed as the organization’s 126th president over the weekend.

His father, John L. Walker Jr., of Roanoke, was VBA president in 1983. His grandfather, John L. Walker of Roanoke, served in 1947 and 1948.

Other new officers are Harry M. “Pete” Johnson III of Richmond, president-elect; James P. Guy II of Richmond, chairman of the Board of Governors; and Thomas R. Bagby of Roanoke, immediate past president.
