ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) - An Oro Valley man has been indicted on child abuse and negligent homicide charges stemming from the bathtub drowning death of his 1-year-old son.

Police say 30-year-old Jesse Martinez found the toddler unresponsive 45 minutes after the father left the boy and a 4-year-old sibling in the bathtub on Nov. 2.

Martinez immediately called 911 and attempted to revive his son, but his efforts and those by police who arrived on the scene within a few minutes were unsuccessful.

Police say a grand jury indicted Martinez after police and Pima County prosecutors reviewed forensic results.

Lt. Kara Riley says she doesn’t know whether Martinez has an attorney.
