LANCASTER, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire Fish and Game officials say a woman has died of injuries she suffered when her snowmobile struck a tree in Pittsburg.

Officials say 47-year-old Pauline Robinson of Hudson was riding along Trail 20 Tuesday when her snowmobile hit a patch of ice and went off the trail and into a tree.

Her husband rode his snowmobile to get help while other snowmobilers stayed with Robinson.

Rescuers used snowmobiles and a rescue sled to get Robinson out of the woods. She was airlifted to Central Maine Medical Center, where she died of her injuries.

Authorities say they believe an unintentional hit of the throttle was the primary cause of the crash.
