DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - A 28-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to lesser charges for stabbing to death a man in Des Moines.

The Des Moines Register says (https://dmreg.co/LnKxa8) Ashley Rogers is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 28. She’s pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter, willful injury and assault. She’d been charged with first-degree murder for killing 22-year-old Frank Renfro Jr. and was charged for stabbing another man, William Rochon. Prosecutors lowered the charges in exchange for Rogers’ pleas.

Renfro was found on a sidewalk on University Avenue around 3:30 a.m. on June 1. Police believe the incident began in a town home on nearby East University Avenue.
