FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Two Flagstaff men are in custody on suspicion of attempted murder.

Coconino County Sheriff’s officials say 18-year-old Garrett McCabe and 19-year-old Christian Cordova both were arrested Tuesday.

They say a 19-year-old man arrived at an emergency room in Winslow on Tuesday afternoon with multiple stab wounds to his shoulder and back.

The victim’s mother told authorities that her son met up with an acquaintance and another man and one of the men stabbed him several times with a knife.

Authorities say the motive for the attack remains unclear and the victim’s name hasn’t been released.

Both suspects attempted to bandage the man’s wounds and later dropped him off near his home.

He walked the remaining distance to his house and a family member took him to the hospital.
