RICHMOND, Calif. (AP) - A Northern California man has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a relative for more than a decade.

The Contra Costa Times (https://bit.ly/1eAqFaQ ) reports that 52-year-old Richard Ochoa of Richmond entered his pleas to forced lewd acts on a child and forcible rape as part of a deal with prosecutors on Wednesday.

Contra Costa County prosecutor Ryan Wagner says Ochoa controlled and sexually abused the now 27-year-old woman from 1998 until her escape in 2012. He says it’s unclear if Ochoa’s wife and other children knew the extent of the abuse.

Wagner compares the abuse to that of Jaycee Dugard, the California girl who was held as a sex slave near Antioch for 18 years.

Ochoa will receive up to 22 years in state prison when he is sentenced Feb. 11.
