SAN ANTONIO (AP) - A South Texas bar manager faces an upgraded manslaughter charge in the death of a patron who allegedly was punched by the worker.

San Antonio police say Daniel Longoria originally was charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury in the incident with Mitchell Jeremy Sanderson.

A police report says Sanderson was under the influence of alcohol when he was asked to leave the property Sunday night. Sanderson allegedly threw a beer bottle behind the bar.

Longoria told police that Sanderson made derogatory comments and tried to slug him. Police say a review of security video found Sanderson, who died later at a hospital, never tried to punch Longoria.

Longoria initially was freed on $50,000 bond. Online Bexar (bayr) County jail records Thursday didn’t list Longoria as being in custody.
