STEWART, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say a 73-year-old man was killed in a fire at his southeast Ohio mobile home.

The fire trapping one person was reported after 2:30 a.m. Thursday in Stewart, a small community east of the city of Athens.

A statement from the Rome Township volunteer fire department says firefighters couldn’t attempt to rescue the man from within the trailer because it was engulfed in flames. The department says there was no sign of foul play and the blaze is believed to be accidental, though it remains under investigation.

The department identifies the man who died as Ernie Cramer.

One firefighter was hurt when he slipped on ice while responding to the blaze. The department says he was treated at a hospital and released.
