GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - The Weld County Sheriff’s Office says a 20-year-old man is being treated for serious injuries after he was stabbed five times in the face and neck following an altercation at an oil and gas operation northeast of Greeley.

Deputies were called to a well site Thursday morning, where they found the victim. He was identified as 20-year-old Uriah James Anthony Lopez.

According to the Greeley Tribune (https://tinyurl.com/melyeqa), David Baldizan was arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder and assault.

The victim told police Baldizan had been dating one of Lopez’s family members. The relationship had recently ended, but Lopez said he hadn’t been having any problems with Baldizan at work.
