FLINT, Mich. (AP) - Police say two people who were unfamiliar with Flint drove a man who was shot there to a hospital roughly 50 miles away in suburban Detroit, where he died.

The Flint Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1loedE2 ) Thursday that police were notified about 19-year-old Daren L. Bowden’s death at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.

Bowden was shot Wednesday afternoon in Flint. Investigators say the two who took Bowden to the hospital are from the Detroit area.

No arrests have been made in the case.

Former Flint Police Chief Brad Barksdale lives in the area where the shooting took place and was outside clearing his driveway of snow at the time. Barksdale says he heard gunfire and saw people drive away. They passed a hospital en route to the highway.
