CARLSBAD, N.M. (AP) - A Carlsbad woman is facing charges after authorities say she led police on a high-speed chase with her 4-year-old son inside, hit a police car and nearly struck two officers.

KRQE-TV reports (https://goo.gl/QhVNFt) that 30-year-old Irene Harris was arrested Tuesday following a chase police say hit 100 miles per hour.

According to a police report, officers tried to pull over Harris after she blew through two stop signs. Police say during the chase Harris dropped off her 4-year-old at an apartment then continued to flee.

Authorities say Harris lost control of her car and slammed into a patrol car.

Harris told police she was fleeing because she had three warrants out for her arrest.

She is facing a number of charges, including aggravated driving while under the influence.

No attorney for her was listed.
