PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A man has been found guilty in the shotgun slaying of his former girlfriend outsider her west Philadelphia home.
The Philadelphia Inquirer (https://bit.ly/1knCp5u ) reports that 62-year-old Anthony Alexander was found guilty Friday and sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murder of 37-year-old Jennifer Fitzpatrick.
Police say Fitzpatrick had just dropped off two of her four children at school Tuesday and was walking home when Alexander began chasing her, and he caught up with her as she tried to get into her car and shot her to death in front of her family members. Investigators say she had obtained a restraining order against Alexander after breaking off a romantic relationship.
Judge Glenn B. Bronson called it a “horrible and senseless, outrageous crime.”
