COFFMAN, Mo. (AP) - An eastern Missouri firefighter is recovering after falling into a cistern while fighting a house fire.

The Daily Journal newspaper in Park Hills (https://bit.ly/1bDvRd4 ) reports that firefighters responded Wednesday night to a blaze in Coffman. The home was a total loss.

Wolf Creek Assistant Fire Chief Steve Young says the firefighter was hospitalized as a precaution and released. His name was not released.
