PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island General Treasurer Gina Raimondo continues to enjoy a substantial fundraising lead in the race for governor.

The Democrat’s campaign reported Friday that it raised more than $485,000 in the last quarter of 2013 and has $2.5 million on hand.

In his first campaign finance report, newcomer Clay Pell reported that he had $1.1 million on hand - thanks mostly to a more than $1 million loan he gave to his campaign.

Providence Mayor Angel Taveras reported earlier this week that he raised nearly $325,000 in the last quarter and has just over $1 million in his campaign account.

Two Republicans - Cranston Mayor Allan Fung and businessman Ken Block - are also running.

Gov. Lincoln Chafee, a Democrat, is not seeking a second term.
