BARTOW, Fla. (AP) - A central Florida teen has been convicted of fatally shooting an Orlando musician outside a bar during a set break.

A Polk County jury found 19-year-old Samuel Sweet Jr. guilty Friday of first-degree murder. Because he was 17 at the time of the murder, he is not eligible for the death penalty.

Ralph Ameduri Jr. had been playing bass at a Winter Haven bar in September 2011. Authorities say he was shot in the head during a botched robbery.

The Ledger (https://goo.gl/E5xfkB ) reports that three teens testified that they dropped Sweet off at the bar before the robbery. A patron at the bar also identified Sweet as the shooter.

Meanwhile, family members testified that Sweet was home with them at the time of the shooting. The defense argued that one of the teens who testified against Sweet was the real shooter.
