RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) - A hospital nurse in Vermont has received a suspended sentence of one to two years on misdemeanor drug possession charges.

Thirty-five-year-old Shawn Marks of Poultney was convicted on Monday in Rutland County Superior Court.

Marks, a nurse in the emergency department of the Rutland Regional Medical Center in Rutland, was accused of unlawfully possessing the narcotic drug Percocet.

Marks has to perform 200 hours of community service as part of his sentence and complete substance abuse counseling.
