“Saturday Night Live” is adding a fresh new face to its cast, hiring its first black female in years.

Sasheer Zamata will make her debut on the sketch comedy show on Jan. 18, when musician Drake is set to host, Variety confirmed.

Miss Zamata, trained at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York, will be the first black female to appear on the show since the departure of Maya Rudolph in 2007.

The casting comes after “SNL” held auditions specifically for black females after facing criticism for lack of diversity.

Miss Sasheer beat out 11 other woman who received callbacks and were invited to test on the stage on Dec. 16, Too Fab reported.
